Beyond jokes, the well-devised mass branding exercises to build the political narrative centered around Modi on every single opportunity is matter of deep concern for the future of democracy in our country.

Every politically aware person who likes to safeguard democracy in a country can get the potential dangers of such mass exercises over a single call. History provides ample evidences to both in our country as well as various other countries.

His strategy always charts out a clear, simple Call-To-Action (yoga day, cleaning gimmick for Swach Bharat, bells & now lighting a candle or lamp for Corona). As he mentioned his speech,

On April 5, I urge all of you to stand on your doorway or balconies and for nine minutes light a candle, diya, torch or your mobiles with an aim to fight the darkness spread by coronavirus with light.

Führer always comes up with such a first-move strategy. Obviously, counter-move is neither easy nor possible without a concerted effort.

Unfortunately the secular and democratic political forces of India are still wasting their time in counter-moves and thereby strengthening the command-of-the-Führer narrative. Leave the Godi media, even unsold media channels go by visuals. So the disarrayed SM posts, newspaper columns, and press releases of some political party leaders cut no ice.

The need of the hour is shifting the focus to collectively MAKE THE FIRST MOVE. The organic spurt of protests in Jamia, AMU, ShaheenBagh and #MigrantsOnTheRoad made such a move unknowingly.

Is it too much to expect that we, the democratic-secular forces of our country, do it knowingly?
